This is a multisession series for organizations ready to take action in creating/enhancing their internal culture of equity. HSF is bringing a multitude of voices to the table with a variety of engaging speakers.
Presented on two different paths:
AUDIT PATH– Learn the lessons and check out the series. This path gets participants involved in all workshops.
CERTIFICATE PATH– Take a deeper dive and gain an equity support system. This path gets participants involved in all workshops, as well as a guided conversation before each session about how the lessons from the previous were applied. Those taking this path will also be invited to HSF’s first Equity Roundtable Discussion meetings for the next year.
Session 1: INTRODUCTION PANEL- LESSONS AND SUCCESSES

We kick off the series with a panel from our member organizations talking about their equity journey, including sharing lessons that have been learning and successes big and small. We will introduce DEI concepts, topics of accountability, intersectionality, and multiple identities during this section.

Session 2: IDENTIFYING AND FACING IMPLICIT BIAS

In this session we look at the term “implicit bias.” What does it mean and how do we acknowledge it? Can you identify it in yourself? Once we unpack the bias, we look at being able to move from Bias to Accountability

Session 3: BUILDING COMMUNITIES OF TRUST: FROM ACTIVE LISTENING TO RESTORATIVE JUSTICE

True Equity needs to be consistently worked on, take steps to create a habit of active equity, consistently listening to voices within your organization. Lean to deal with missteps when they do happen, holding yourself and others accountable.

Session 4: HONORING PERSONAL IDENTITIES IN THE WORKPLACE

Each person you work with identifies themselves in a way that is unique to them. We take a moment to acknowledge those identities and look at how to honor them in your work environment in a way that creates a culture of care.

Session 5: ORGINAZATIONAL BARRIERS TO BELONG
Tuesday May 30th Certificate Conversation: 9am-9:30am Workshop 9:45am-12:30pm
In this session we take a close look at your organization’s policies, practices, placement, and other factors that might set up barriers. Examine which of those need to be in place as well as identify if there are any changes that can be made to remove some of those barriers. Get buy-ins by senior leadership on changes as needed.

Session 6 COHORT PLAN CREATIONS
Tuesday June 13th Certificate Conversation: 9am-9:30am Workshop 9:45am-12:30pm
Build a custom plan to improve DEI for your organization, at whatever point you are at on your journey. Use learning tools to to identify action steps and create change at your organization. Break into partners and create a unique plan for your organization, and gain accountability partners to carry these lessons past the workshop.
