The book documents the 93-year-old history of Crownsville Hospital, one of the last segregated asylums with surviving records in the US. Madness chronicles the stories of Black families whose mental health suffered as they tried, and sometimes failed, to find safety and dignity.
The initial book group discussion will take place on July 26th, 12-1pm via Zoom and monthly book discussions will occur on the
fourth Friday from 12-1pm.
